On television and in films idents are used mainly to show either the company or organisation that made the product for the consumer but there are deeper meanings in these benign small animations.
Identity
When a company make their ident they show their morals through colour and sound that will appeal to our sub-conscious, for instance the Mc Donald’s idents evolution when their “I’m lovin’ it” campaign began with that distinctive tune (that can not be mistaken for anything other than Mc Donald’s) being played with some one saying “I’m lovin’ it”. After a while we as the audience recognise that tune and say their motto, this shows how a 10 second animation can instantly be embedded into our minds. The colours in an ident have meaning as well, using the Mc Donald’s ident again you can de construct it to its core elements. The colour scheme of yellow on red, both of which are primary colours associated with children and children are a sign of innocence, suggests the company can be trusted as they are innocent. As for their logo if you see their massive golden M you know through seeing it as a child that its Mc Donald’s. This has occurred as they have used the same logo for generations and as a consumer we recognize that it represents cheap fast food that is in a family friendly environment.
Packaging
A company’s logo is like a seal of approval and the fact that they are proud of their product an example of this is Apple, a company that specialises in next generation electronics that range from phones, computers, tablets, computing programs and personal music systems. On all their products is their iconic apple logo in which we see simplicity and trust. This continues on all of their product’s packaging. With the i-pod shuffle the packaging is the pure white box that has the smooth rounded edges that all their products have, also the text on this box is in a simplistic style which doesn’t draw attention away from the product and contains the product and contents of wires, instruction and headphones in a way that is sophisticated and has enough space for an apple logo sticker. This is ingenious and all of this is reflected in their logo.

Re-packaging
in 1976 apple logo was reminiscent of todays modern apple logo featuring the same apple logo but formed in a rainbow pattern at the time apple made a range of computers that had the same bold colours that made them exiting and beautifulbut when they wanted to promote the company as a more sophisticated company the opted for the same logo but in a solid black colour and there products main theme was for a mor corperate style products.
scheduling
on telivision idents are used to remind you which programe your watching at that time so it reinforces you trust in the station, also when the ident is played some one will tell you what is coming next.
sheduling affects sponssers idents as well as you wouldn’t promote motor bikes with a childrens cartoon.

No matter how long the slinky is, the bottom of the slinky will stay still (hover) until the top reaches it. Even if the slinky is over 1000 feet long.

SIMPLY REBLOG AND YOU CAN HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Hey there, my name is Shayla and I’ve been gaming for as long as I can remember. I’ve been lucky enough to grow in a stable household and I’ve never had to deal with a life altering illness, but I know first hand how important video games can be. Gaming can offer an escape from our daily lives and a chance to unwind. People my age and older benefit from it- now imagine how important it is for children who are suffering from illnesses of all kinds to have distraction and a chance to have fun in their lives. That’s why I want to donate to Penny Arcade’s Child’s Play charity.
ABOUT CHILD’S PLAY
“Since 2003, we’ve set up and organized Child’s Play, a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in our network of over 70 hospitals worldwide. Over the years, you as a community have answered the call and come together to raise millions of dollars.Child’s Play works in two ways. With the help of hospital staff, we set up gift wish lists full of video games, toys, books, and other fun stuff for kids. By clicking on a hospital location on our map, you can view that hospital’s wish list and send a gift.
Child’s Play also receives cash donations throughout the year. With those cash donations, we purchase new consoles, peripherals, games, and more for hospitals and therapy facilities. These donations allow for children to enjoy age-appropriate entertainment, interact with their peers, friends, and family, and can provide vital distraction from an otherwise generally unpleasant experience.
-Child’s Play.”
ABOUT MY FUNDRAISER
- For every re-blog of this post, I will donate 20 cents to the Child’s Play charity! The deadline I’m setting is February 19th so on that day, I’ll do the math and figure out how much I’ll be donating to them.
- I AM NOT ASKING FOR ANY MONEY. All I want is for people to reblog this post and spread the word! The number of reblogs will decide how much I donate to Child’s Play. I don’t want your money. Just your awareness and kindness.
- I don’t know how successful this will wind up being, but you have my word that every reblog WILL act as money towards Child’s Play. Even if I have to set a certain amount of money out of my pay cheques and do so for years, I’ll do it and that’s a promise!
